Antiquing. For some people, it’s about searching through thousands of things to find the one treasure that’s completely rare. For others, it’s about collecting the objects that have a nostalgic or special meaning. And for some, it’s simply about expressing their personal style in a unique and eclectic way. But to all those who do it, antiquing delivers an exciting thrill while somehow satisfying the oldest part of your soul.
People travel from all over the region to browse the shelves at American Classic Antiques on North Broad Street in Downtown Mooresville. Dennis White, a long-time partner in the antique store, says that’s because they do things a little differently than most antique stores today. “First of all, we sell real antiques,” he said. By most standards, an antique is an item that’s at least 100 years old. “We prefer not to be a flea market type of antique store. But we try to have something for everybody,” he said. “Each customer knows what they want when they walk through that door. If we don’t have it, then that’s our fault!” he smiles…
